Special Panel Guest - Mic Jones

Time for another announcement of an amazing ReCon Panel Guest! This time we will be getting an inside look at how the stunts were created and performed by Stunt Coordinator extraordinaire, Mic Jones! We are very fortunate to have Mic join us! We've included Mic's reel to show just some of the amazing stunts he added to make La Femme Nikita the show we all love! Biography: Mic Jones grew up in Ottawa, Canada. As a young boy, his career path presented itself early with the discovery of action movies and Evel Knievel. Realizing that he could get paid to do all of the amazing things he had grown to love, he set his sights on becoming a stuntman. Mic read and studied everything he could about the art of stunts. He taught himself the mechanics and performance of the art. He even sometimes enlisted friends to assist him in creating elaborate scenes to test out his development. The skill of being in front of a camera was also honed, as well as many types of vehicles including power boats, helicopters and motorcycles. Excelling at many different styles of stunt work, Mic's experience branched out as he became more focused on technique and the practical side of stunts. Along with an outstanding safety record, some areas of expertise are Creative Action Sequence Designer, Technical Consultant, Tactical Defense and Fight Choreographer, Stunt Rigging Coordinator, and Fire Stunt and Safety Coordinator. His experience in fire work aided him in becoming internationally recognized for fire stunt engineering. He is a credited source for research and chemical development for Best Jel™ (flame barrier stunt jel.)

Mic's work is quite extensive, encompassing film and television. On La Femme Nikita, he is credited with 96 episodes for performing stunts, key stunt rigger and stunt coordinator. According to Chris Heyn's book, "Inside Section One," Mic stated that "Two of his favorite stunts from La Femme Nikita were Season Three's "Someone Else's Shadow," in which Nikita appears to jump out of a 23rd story window of a high-rise office building into a giant airbag on the street below, and "Gates of Hell," in which Michael slides his motorcycle under a tractor-trailer while at the same time firing at enemy agents."
